Home Pod – Shower Room

Neil spent some time finalising the shower room. The room has been built on as a lean-to but never finished, so insulation and then waterproof gyproc were used to finish the inside. All the joints and screw heads were filled and finished. We then decided to sheet the three shower walls with a plastic product. Originally it was supposed to be a sort of outside shower so we maintained that idea a little by using a wooden base surrounded by stones. We will see over a few months how the wood stands up to the water from the shower.

Arkipod Mini almost finished

Well after some intensive work the family has almost finished the Arkipod Mini. The frame was sheeted and insulated. A vapour barrier was then applied and finished with corrugated metal sheeting. We really like this finish, should last a very long time.

Another great thing about the construction techniques we are using is that once the covering is worn out it can be removed and replaced easily.

All that is needed now is to finish the end caps for the roof, install the door and windows and put the finishing layer over the gable ends. This Arkipod Mini should retail at under 5000€ which makes it a great proposition for people looking for some extra space, or even to use for an income using the Air BnB website, if you have a cool place to put it, it will rent.

This Arkipod has an interior which is 8 foot wide and 10 foot long, from a camping point of view easily big enough for four people sharing, or alternatively with some nice furniture a cosy romantic couples Arkipod.

Almost finished the Arkipod

Maybe you are wondering why the site is not complete, I guess it is that way as I have not quite finished. There a couple of pieces missing that are not in stock. Once this is done I will be uploading photos of the finished Pod Outside and in and announcing build times, availability and suggesting uses for your pod.

What’s yours for….

Any way a couple of photos from this afternoon, to make the wait a  bit easier.
